Vivian Uchitel was born in Charleston, South Carolina and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Vivian worked at a behavioral health agency as a social worker in the child and adolescent department. Vivian received her Juris Doctor from Mercer University, the Walter F. George School of Law, Macon, Georgia in 2006. After graduating from law school, Vivian moved to Atlanta to accept a judicial clerkship with the Honorable David P. Darden, State Court of Cobb County. Vivian joined Simpson Law Offices, L.L.P. in 2007 after completing her clerkship.
Vivian became the Senior Associate at Simpson Law Offices L.L.P. in 2009 and became a partner with Simpson, Uchitel & Wilson, L.L.P. in 2012. Vivian primarily practices in the areas of creditor’s rights and collections, contract/account litigation, creditor’s rights in bankruptcy, garnishment litigation, personal property foreclosure actions, foreign judgment domestication actions, general civil litigation and appellate practice.
Vivian is a member of the Creditor’s Rights section of the State Bar of Georgia. Vivian’s reported cases include Traditional Properties, Inc. v. Performance Food Group of Georgia, L.L.C., 291 Ga. App. 442 (2008), U.S. Foodservice, Inc. v. Bartow County Bank, 300 Ga. App. 519 (2009), Oxmoor Portfolio, LLC v. Flooring & Tile Superstore of Conyers, Inc., 320 Ga. App. 640 (2013) and Atlanta Truck Parts, Inc. v. Zenon & Zenon Contractors, Inc., 345 Ga. App. 507 (2018).
